President of Thredgold Economic Associates, a professional speaking and economic consulting company 23 years with KeyCorp, one of the nation’s largest financial services companies, stretching from Maine to Alaska with assets of more than $91 billion, where he served as Senior VP and Chief Economist. Currently serves as economic consultant to $30 billion Zions Bancorporation, with banks in eight states. Also serves as economic consultant to numerous clients in a variety of industries.

Jeff has appeared dozens of times on CNBC-TV, the nation’s business network, as well as numerous appearances on CNN. He’s been frequently quoted in the nation’s business press, including The Wall Street Journal, USA TODAY, Investor’s Business Daily, and Business Week. Jeff is a monthly contributor to the national publication Blue Chip Financial Forecasts, and he has quarterly USA TODAY economic forecast surveys.

Has written a weekly economic and financial update for 30 years. The current version ,Tea Leaf, is distributed around the country. Economy by Thredgold: A Common Sense Discussion of the Economy, Money, and Success in the 21st Century, was released in 2001. On the One Hand...The Economist’s Joke Book was also released in 2001. Jeff produces quarterly economic reports for various clients, and he produces monthly small business index for various clients.

Jeff is the only economist in the world to have earned the CSP designation. He was the Adjunct professor of finance at the University of Utah for 16 years. He served as President of the National Association for Business Economics Utah Chapter and the NSA-Utah Chapter. Jeff is a former member of the Economic Advisory Committee of the American Bankers Association and the Economic Policy Committee of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
